Basic Introduction

Always been interested in knives, carried a pocket knife from the age of 12 till now. Started collecting various knives including some from the best custom makers in South Africa. I also collect bayonets and various other styles, the total number of knives in my collection is over 200. I started making my first knife (machete) from a truck spring back in 1974 (still have it) I decided to make some knives and have been at it in a part-time/hobbyist capacity since 2014, recently (2020) joined the Cape Knife Club and applied for a table at their first local (Tableview) show 2021. Enjoyed it so much that I have participated in two more in 2022 and intend to exhibit at as many as I can in the future.

Favourite Steel
N690, L4528, 440C and 5160.

Favourite Handle Materials
Natural – hardwoods, Red Ivory, Black Wenge, African Black Wood, Burls and Horn. Synthetic – G10, Carbon Fibre, Kirinite, Micarta and Corian.

Signature product
There is not any specific signature product, however there is a Hunter/Fighter that I love making, that sells well. N690 stainless steel, 316L stainless bolster and Black Wenge handle includes red liners, mosaic pin and lanyard hole.

Technical
Only quality steel and products will be used, together with expert hardening processes to assure clients the best product that can be manufactured by me. Full Spec sheet supplied with each knife.

The future
I will continue to enjoy my knifemaking at a pace that assures clients nothing but great quality knives and leatherwork.
